Yesterday the IRS has published updated rates of local standards for Housing and Utilities for use in calculating repayment of delinquent taxes. These standards are effective October 3, 2011 for purposes of federal tax administration only.

National standards for Food, Clothing and Miscellaneous, regional Transportation standards and national standards for Out-of-pocket Health Care Costs have not been changed.

PitBullTax Software has updated local standards for Housing and Utilities for every single county in the United States.

If you have recently prepared Collection Information Statements (Form 433-A, 433-A (OIC), 433-F) or have used PitBullTax Express Evaluation tool (PE²), you may want to revisit those forms to see how your calculations are affected. Even though in some counties the change is very slight, it may alter your offer amount.
